Demo: a nightly cron job runs bin/backup and, only if it succeeds, runs freshjots append fresh-jots-db-backup "ok 2.2 GB", which adds that line to the top of the "fresh-jots-db-backup" note in Fresh Jots. The note has a dead man's switch set to 25 hours: the night the backup fails, nothing is appended, and Fresh Jots emails you "fresh-jots-db-backup hasn't been appended to in 25h".

That backup cron — is it still running, or did it die quietly three weeks ago? With a dead man's switch, you'd have known by the next morning.

Do you read my notes, or train AI on them?

No. We don't browse your notes, and our Terms commit us not to train machine-learning models on them or sell them to anyone who would. More on privacy →

What do my scripts and AI need in order to write here?
